refuse2, v.tr. 1 Diúltaím, cuirim suas do (bhronntanas, etc.). 2 a Eitím, diúltaím (éileamh). To refuse s.o. sth., duine a dhiúltú faoi rud. He was refused a hearing, níor héisteadh leis; ní bhfuair sé éisteacht. b To refuse to do sth., diúltú do rud a dhéanamh. 3 Horse that refuses the fence, capall a loiceann roimh an gclaí.
